Original Oyster Shells Artwork by Patricia Norwood
My name is Patricia Norwood. The inspiration for my art stems from my recollections and memories of my native Gulf Breeze, Florida home. In this area oysters are part of the culture. It seemed so natural to recycle them to an object of beautiful art. Many of the pictures depicted on my shells are reflections and embellishments taken from my life in the lovely panhandle of northwest Florida and other areas of our vast country.
From the time that I was a child, I have had a passion for art and painting. My husband was also an inspiration for my art and the working of wood. His encouragement and ability to paint and work with wood as well, made it easy for me to begin with something that I really enjoy.
I know that you shall be pleased by the detail that I have put in my art - when you are holding my work in your hands.
Art work available: Hand-painted oyster shells of many different scenes. Wood-Burned on various types of wood-cedar, pine or cypress. Hand-painted saws.
