Lacquer Arts Red Lac and Shellac Artwork

Hello! I am Rosa Flores and although it sounds strange, my ex-husband was Mexican and Japanese! I learned many exotic tastes from him including Mexican cooking, high tech computers, and Japanese Lac Art.
In my travels I have learned that the technique of “lacquering” was practiced by the New World Indians (Incas, Aztecs) as well as the ancient Oriental cultures. The highest form was perfected by the Japanese who still value as “National Treasures” those craftsmen who produce Red Lac Ware (tea cups, bowls, etc.)
On my pages I offer a variety of different Lacque Arts from shells lacquered by Pacific island natives to soapstone “Red Lacqued” by Asian artisans. You may also be interested in some of my items at My E-Bay Site.
I hope the vast network of the Internet through Panhandle Craft Mall will awaken a new awareness of and taste for these ancient arts.
